Research in Teaching
Gretchen's research of intrinsic motivation in beginner students worldwide was driven by her desire to encourage her students to contemplate their "why" for studying piano. In her presentation, "The Pedagogy of Motivation: Developing Mastery and Mindfulness in All Piano Students," Gretchen presents methods to develop healthy self-efficacy and mindfulness in regular practice for her students and other teachers to utilize.
